| WISSEN SCHAFFT WISSEN is the motto of our multi-volume "summa cum laude"-yearbook series, which is intended as a platform to make outstanding work of young researchers at German universities more systematically accessible and hence better usable for a broad interested public.
The series lists and portrays young researchers who received highest honours from a German university for their doctoral work, presents a generally understandable extended abstract of their dissertation and provides the latter's concise publication details as well as each researcher's contact information.
The dissertation entries are supplemented by university entries containing some core aspects of the Ph.D.-regulations and each university's Ph.D.-statistic. By bundling this information, the yearbook series allows a 'look behind the scences of science', not only by communicating and hence honouring outstanding scientific achievements of young researchers but also by rendering the performance of different German universities visible and comparable. |
